Greece is part of the passage for the immigrants and refugees that are moving from east to west. Not only has a massive increase in racist activity been evident at the borders for some time, but the situation is also an expression of the rise of fascist forces that extends far beyond Greece’s borders.
In addition to pushbacks in the Aegean Sea, evictions of squats and police violence, this can be seen, for example, in the racist manhunt that people organized against refugees whom they arbitrarily blamed for forest fires. Because these attacks are covered and supported by the state, it is extremely difficult for people to oppose them without being accused or hunted down themselves. We want to start a discussion because we are extremely concerned about the situation. Not only because the situation rarely finds its way into the European media: We believe that this is not a problem of the south, but rather a problem that affects all europe. We want to discuss how fascism is becoming a new reality by establishing its presence in every aspect of our lives, from politics to our everyday lives.

The discussion will be held in English. Feel free to ask for a whispered translation.
